Television settings for the best picture!
We tend to think that our TV screen works optimally by default. But this is not the case. A few small adjustments can optimize the viewing experience. Apart from rendering quality, these adjustments limit eyestrain, for optimum comfort. Grab your remote control and take note of the following points:
Display modes
If they do exist, it's to be adapted according to the desired use. So here they are:
- standard: suitable for daily use;
- dynamic: too saturated, designed for in-store displays ;
- cinema: ideal for viewing in semi-darkness ;
- game: reduces latency by deactivating certain video processes, to the detriment of image quality.
Brightness
Adjust brightness for deep blacks without losing detail, and contrast to avoid burnt white. Use a test pattern on YouTube for precise calibration. For colors, opt for Normal mode in most cases, Warm for films, and avoid Cold mode, which is too artificial.
Deactivate all automatic enhancements: they often degrade the picture by adding blur or unnecessary halos. If your TV supports HDR, activate it and adjust the brightness according to the ambient lighting: brighter in daylight, softer in the dark.
And there you have it, your TV is ready to impress!
