Local Electricity Community - CEL

As a consumer, you can join an existing community and benefit from locally generated solar energy at a lower price.
The local electricity community
A local electricity community (LEC) allows you to sell or buy electricity generated locally in your neighborhood or municipality. It is a local marketplace where producers and consumers can trade electricity.
How does a CEL work?
Within a CEL, electricity is exchanged between producers and consumers via the SEIC grid. The CEL has its own price for solar energy, and the fee for using the SEIC grid to exchange this energy is reduced by 20 to 40 percent.
Producer members sell their energy primarily to CEL members. Any surplus solar power is purchased by SEIC.
Consumer members are supplied primarily by CEL. Of course, SEIC still supplies them when demand exceeds production (in the evening, for example).
